BRIEF HISTORY:
If God by His majesty created you as a Nigerian, it cannot be changed, even if by dual citizenship to another country, the person still remains a Nigerian born. It is not a mistake, for God knows why you are a Nigerian.
Prior to the 80’s when the economic position of the country was good, Nigerian hardly travelled abroad. For those that travelled, they were accorded much respect; a Nigerian in any part of the world was proud to be Nigerian. The value of the Naira was at per with the dollar. The citizen of Nigeria had value because the standard of living was commendable. However, successive governments lost focus and lacked foresight to plan ahead for the growing population and coupled with successive bad governance, the system crumbled, resulting in mass unemployment; the difficult economic climate became unbearable for young graduates, the massive devaluation of the Naira weakened the system, consequently, even the take home salary became insufficient as both the unemployed and the employed descended on the embassies to travel out for greener pasture. This gave rise to all sorts of crimes, 419, and corruption in high places.
This problem was carried over to various overseas countries. Unpublished reports estimated that 5,000,000 Nigerians are in prisons in Europe, South America, Africa, Asia and other countries.
What is their crime?
